20% of Vermont Nonprofits Could Lose IRS Designation

Shannon Martin Dilley with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) office in Vermont alerted us to this  list of 1180 Vermont nonprofits who are at risk of losing their tax-exempt status. The National Council on Charitable Statistics reports that 6015 Vermont nonprofits were IRS recognized 501(c)’s in  2008. That means 20% are out of compliance! If [...]
