Our friends at Vermont Software Developer’s Alliance wrote to let us know that registration Is now open for the Vermont 3.0 Tech Jam, scheduled for October 15th & 16th, 2010 at Main Street Landing in Burlington. So save the date to meet and mingle with the leading edge companies in Vermont and raise the visibility of your organization with the next generation entrepreneurs and workers.
The Tech Jam is both a career fair and a tech expo — it’s the premier event that promotes the tech and bioscience sectors of Vermont’s economy. We held the first jam in 2008, and hundreds of job seekers, career changers, students, educators, reporters and lawmakers have attended the two we’ve held since.
This year’s jam is sponsored by Dealer.com, and organized by us, Seven Days, the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Labor.
The tech jam is a great place to recruit employees, but many of our exhibitors also use the jam as an opportunity for marketing and networking, and some come to simply stand and be counted among the most innovative local companies. When dozens of high-tech firms come together under one roof, talking with students, educators, elected officials and decision-makers about business and technology, it sends a strong statement about Vermont’s economy.
Companies that have registered so far include Dealer.com, Logic Supply, Green Mountain Antibodies, MBF Bioscience, MicroStrain, Competitive Computing (C2), Chroma Technologies and Union Street Media.
In addition to the exhibitor booths, we’ll also have:
* Video game demos from the Champlain College Emergent Media Center
* A designated time slot for middle- and high-school students
* A Friday evening mixer for exhibitors
* A CEO Speaker Series
* A town-hall forum with the two leading candidates for Governor
There has been a lot of interest in the event this year, so we encourage you to register soon. Registration will remain closed to exhibitors outside of the software, tech and bioscience fields until sometime in July, at which point registration will be opened to everyone.
