Fall Workshop for 501(c)(3)’s from IRS on 10/12

The IRS is offering a workshop in Vermont for tax exempt small and mid-size 501(c)(3) Organizations and registration is now open for the October 12 session at Vermont Law School in  South Royalton VT. Register Today.

This one-day workshop, presented by experienced Exempt Organizations specialists, will explain what 501(c)(3) organizations must do to keep their tax-exempt status and comply with tax obligations. This popular introductory workshop is designed especially for administrators or volunteers who are responsible for an organization’s tax compliance as well as those interested in careers in the nonprofit sector.

IRS representatives will provide a full day of information and Q&A on areas that include:

  • Benefits and responsibilities of tax-exempt status
  • Unrelated business income
  • Employment issues; classification and filing requirements
  • Overview of the redesigned 990 form; resources and tools
  • Required disclosures

When: Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, 9-4 (Breakfast and lunch included)

Where: Vermont Law School, 164 Chelsea St., South Royalton, VT 05068

Fees: $50 for organization’s first participant, $35 for each additional participant. $20 for VLS faculty and staff (but free to the first 20 who sign up). An additional $10 administrative fee for those requesting continuing education credit. Registration will be considered confirmed when payment is received.

Credit: VT CPE credit available. VT CLE and CEU credit applied for. An additional $10 administrative fee for those requesting continuing education credit.
