Mary Evslin sent us this update on the Vermont’s Stimulus funded “e-Vermont” project. Your town may be eligible for the second round of funding:
The e-Vermont Community Broadband Project helps rural communities make best use of high speed Internet as it becomes available across Vermont.
e-Vermont provides free resources such as: netbooks and teacher training to elementary school classrooms, advising and training to small businesses, workshops on a variety of computer and Internet skills, equipment to public libraries, advising on e-government, community networking with Front Porch Forum, and free assistance with projects that *your* community designs.
A detailed description and application is at www.e4vt.org or call Helen Labun Jordan at 225-6091 for more information.
Application deadline is November 17th. The application is simple to write, but does require advanced planning – so look it over today.
Please note that this is the second and *final* round of e-Vermont applications.
The application for communities interested in the second round of e-Vermont is now available from http://vtrural.org/programs/e-vermont/how-to-apply
