Smart Growth Vermont Seeks Interim Executive Director
Smart Growth Vermont (SGV) is a state-wide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to forging
innovative solutions to the land use challenges facing Vermont. We work with local officials,
developers, non-profit organizations, political leaders and businesses to understand the factors that are
changing our state, and to develop creative land use and development policies to increase our
prosperity and protect Vermont’s distinctive landscape. See SGV website for more information:

DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:
-20-25 hours per week
-Compensation: commensurate with experience and skills, benefits not included (salary in the
$1000/week range)
-Based in Burlington, Vermont, with some work at home office possible
-Responsibilities include:
-Maintaining day to day operations
-Managing existing staff
-Ensuring SGV satisfies existing obligations of on-going projects and grants, working
-towards on time and on budget completions
-Developing and recommending policies to the Board
-Meeting with funders to maintain donor relations
-Developing external communications and speaking in public
-Helping the board explore structural options going forward
