Thanks to the folks who responded to Common Good Vermont’s NPO Coaching Survey for Executive Directors. We are planning to launch two ED Coaching Circles in Montpelier and Burlington in January 2012. The survey is helping us with the design and format of monthly guided “meet ups”of Executive Directors seeking advice and support for their leadership role. Thanks to Mark Furnari and Susan Palmer, two accomplished executive coaches, we plan to launch these “circles” in mid-January. If you are interested in participating, please let us know so we can put you on the announcement list. Send Nick Carter a quick email at Coordinator@CommonGoodVT.org
The results: Many of the respondents (25) were from Chittenden County (7) but there is an interest in meetings in Rutland/ Addison Counties, Central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom. The majority of the ED’s surveyed are interested in coaching have explored leadership development in the past. They’d like to set aside time from their “pressing demands” to focus, in an ongoing way, on issues that face them, such as work/life balance (87%), holding staff (and board) accountable (64%) and making tough decisions (34%). Most folks are interested in morning sessions, citing “the earlier the better”.
We’ll announce the launch of the 2012 VT NPO ED Coaching Circles in December. In the meantime, please let us know if you’d like to attend (in either Burlington or Montpelier) by sending us an email—we’ll put you on the invite list! Coordinator@CommonGoodVT.org
