COTS Seeks Accounting Clerk

COTS, a nonprofit organization nationally recognized as a model for innovative
programs, provides emergency shelter, services, and housing for Vermonters
who are without homes or who are marginally housed with the belief that housing
is a fundamental human right.
COTS is seeking a part time Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk is
responsible for a variety of bookkeeping and accounting functions under the
direction of the Accounting Manager, including but not limited to: processing and
administering employee payroll and benefits; accounts payable, grants reporting
and billing; processing cash receivables; assisting in the annual budget and
annual audit processes.
The successful candidate will bring commitment to our mission along with a
minimum of an Associates Degree in accounting or business, plus experience
with payroll, double entry bookkeeping and grants accounting, preferably in a
non-profit setting. Experience with Paychex, QuickBooks or similar accounting
and payroll software, MS Excel and excellent computer skills a must. Excellent
organization, planning and analysis skills, and strong, clear communication skills
also required.
This is a part time position with benefits, approximately 28-36 hours per week,
depending on the right candidate. The ability to work on Fridays required.
