Prevention Educator
Central Vermont New Directions Coalition (CVNDC), located in Montpelier, VT, seeks two dynamic, collaborative-minded individuals to coordinate our prevention education and advocacy efforts. The Educators will work with CVNDC staff and community members to decrease the prevalence of substance use and increase healthy lifestyles. This will be done through awareness building, education and citizen advocacy. Projects include working with youth, implementing prevention activities, and collaborating with schools, parents and the community around alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention.
Qualifications:
The right candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in health education or communication; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; strong communication and coordination skills; community organizing and teaching skills as well as the desire to work with youth; and be self-motivated and a team player. Knowledge of the Montpelier/Central Vermont community strongly desired.
