I’m thrilled to join CCTV and Common Good Vermont and would like to thank all who have given me such a warm welcome as I come aboard. As a part of the Vermont nonprofit community for most of my career, I understand the unique opportunities and challenges the sector faces and I’m excited to find ways to support and encourage the vital work that is done every day.
When I moved to Vermont 12 years ago, I had the great fortune to spend two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the United Way of Chittenden County. I was introduced to the dynamic nonprofit community and fell in love. I then spent time in the private sector managing the online sales program for the Crow Bookshop, but realized my heart is in community work. I moved on to development and fundraising for the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, working with marketing, annual and capital campaigns, special events, grants, major giving, donor stewardship, and program development. When the opportunity came long, I became the program director for the City of Burlington’s AmeriCorps VISTA program and had the privilege of working with 40 nonprofits and government agencies throughout the state. When program funding ended, I became the Community and Economic Development Office‘s Community Development Specialist and got to be the on the ground organizer for community groups throughout Burlington. I can’t imagine a better way to use that varied experience than to join Common Good Vermont and help strengthen the sector that I’ve called home for so many years.
The people who staff the nonprofits throughout the states are some of the most kind, dedicated, and passionate individuals I’ve ever met. You are the experts at what works in your communities. My hope is that I can continue the amazing work that Common Good Vermont has done aggregating resources and expand on the opportunities for partnerships, learning, in-person collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of each and every one of you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with your needs and experiences, or just to introduce yourselves. I’m looking forward to the months and years ahead.
