Are you a storyteller? We have lots of stories to tell, and we need a staff writer and content creator to help shape and edit our communications and share them with the right audiences. In this role, you’ll work with our program staff to find and share stories of our work around the world. From formal proposal style to blogging and microblogging, you’ll need to write for the audience and the occasion – and the deadline. You’ll work closely with our designer to create the print and web content we need, and you’ll manage our social media presence.Here at ISC, we work to help communities around the world see what’s possible, and we are passionate about communicating effectively. This position will be responsible for maintaining the tone and execution of our communications across all media.
Excellent writing and editing skills are required, as is a strong working knowledge of the social web and experience in MS Office. Familiarity with Adobe CS will be helpful. Competitive salary and benefits available.

The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is looking for Communications Assistant candidates to join the Institutional Advancement team as graphic designer for the organization. The Designer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all print and web design projects to meet ISC’s program and organizational needs. We are especially interested in candidates with a wide range of experience, who can create materials in a variety of media and are comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment requiring fast turnaround.Ideal candidates will have several years of design experience creating materials for print and web, a solid understanding of design principles and an eye for detail. Experience with information graphics is a definite plus. The right candidate will be comfortable in our fast-paced environment and able to juggle multiple projects and priorities easily (and with a sense of humor).
- A minimum of 2 years professional experience in graphic design and communications;
- Ability to develop and manage project timelines and closely track projects with internal and external stakeholders and vendors;
- Must be competent in Adobe CS, HTML, and a range of other creativity tools;
- Comfortable working in a range of media, including print, web, video;
- Strong communications and time management skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred.
