iConnect – Skills for Working with Internet Beginners
Today as more and more activities go online, many of us need to help people who are uncomfortable with the Internet navigate websites, e-mail programs and other computer basics. The iConnect program is a half day workshop that teaches skills for communicating efficiently and effectively with Internet beginners as you help them perform basic online tasks. Participants will learn how to walk a beginner through these tasks in a way that sets them up to continue on to learn digital skills on their own.
For the Internet beginners you connect with at work, in your family, in your community and as your friends, you can be their best bridge into the online world – learn how through an iConnect workshop.
This November, the e-Vermont Community Broadband Program and Community College of Vermont are offering two iConnect trainings:
Friday, November 9th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
CCV Upper Valley (in White River Junction)
Friday, November 16th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
CCV Rutland
Through the support of e-Vermont, these sessions are offered free of charge.
Directions to CCV locations are found at:

Materials, snacks, and computers will be provided at the location. Space is limited so you must RSVP. Contact Helen Labun Jordan (helen@vtrural.org or 802-225-6091) with your RSVP – please include name(s) and organization. You will receive a confirmation note with additional instructions.
Please note, this training is for people working with Internet beginners, not people seeking to learn basic Internet skills themselves. Past participants have included librarians, library volunteers, supervisors assisting with electronic payrolls, state agencies assisting with job searches and unemployment benefits, and non-profit organizations assisting with access to state benefits.
