Veterans Count Vermont (VCV) is a program of Easter Seals Vermont and is just getting under way here in Vermont. The attachment has some information about the organization, and this Thursday at 15:00 hours they are having an organizational meeting at the Vermont Easter Seals Offices to answer questions for people interested in helping.
The address is:
Easter Seals Vermont
White Cap Building
426 Industrial Avenue
Williston, VT 05495
I know this is a very valuable organization in New Hampshire. We at Vermont Veterans Services are assisting with the launch of VCV in the hope that they can help in the same way as they have in New Hampshire. Vermont Veterans Services is a Supportive Services for Veteran Families program of the VA. We are working to end functional veteran homelessness by 31 December 2015, but like all VA programs we are limited by many many rules. The donations from VCV without the red tape can complete the needs in a veteran families housing stability plan.
Please come to the meeting if you want, but you can always call Easter Seals Vermont for more information.
If you know of a veteran, or veteran and family who is homeless, please get them to call 802-656-3232 to find out if they are eligible for our program. If they aren’t then we will try to send them in the right direction.
