OneCare Vermont Included in National Review on Accountable Care Organizations

OneCare Vermont, the state’s largest Accountable Care Organization (ACO), is pleased to announce that it has been included in the Becker’s Hospital Review list of “100 ACOs to Know”.  To be included on the list, ACOs must “…stand out for their excellence in quality, achievements in driving down cost and ability to grow and take on risk.”  Becker’s Hospital Review has published a version of this list annually since 2012.

The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selects ACO’s for inclusion “…based on quality and cost performance, participation in CMS’ Next Generation Model, the Pioneer Model, advanced tracks of the Medicare Shared Savings Program and a number of recently formed commercial contracts.”

OneCare Vermont, a participant in the Medicare Shared Savings Program since 2013 and approved to begin the Next Generation Model in 2017, is one of the country’s largest ACO networks as measured by attributing  physicians, hospital participation, and providers across a very broad continuum of care and services.. OneCare was recently named the successful bidder to become Vermont’s exclusive partner in a Medicaid initiative that aims to mirror Medicare’s Next Generation ACO model. The CEO of OneCare, Todd Moore, said “It is an honor to be counted again by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the nation’s most prominent ACO’s.  Our providers and the team at OneCare strive every day push the boundaries of population health management and payment reform because we believe in the approach and know Vermonters are counting on us for a high quality, patient-focused, and affordable health care system.”  The full list of ACO’s included on the list is here:
