At a press conference in the Statehouse Wednesday, Governor-Elect Phil Scott thanked voters and appointed a transition director and co-chairs of a leadership advisory committee to help collect applicantions for the new administration.
“I am putting together a capable team to make sure we have a fiscally responsible budget in place to make sure the transition is smooth for Vermonters and we build a talented team capable of accomplishing the goals we set during the campaign,” the Governor-Elect said. “The people of Vermont have given us a mandate for fiscal responsibility.”
Debbie Winters, the owner of FireTech Sprinklers, and Laura Sibilia, who is a state representative and the Executive Director of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, will head a Transition Leadership Advisory Committee. The committee will help find qualified applicants interested in serving in the new administration. The Governor-Elect is expected to announce the full membership of that committee in the coming days.
In addition to the co-chairs of the Transition Leadership Advisory Committee, Governor-Elect Scott also announced that Governor Douglas’ former chief of staff stepped up to lead the transition and former Secretary of Administration and Irene Recovery Officer Neale Lunderville will volunteer as the chair of the Budget Development Committee.
