Thanks to Amy Carmola from the United Way of Chittenden County for sharing this with us.
This one-time funding opportunity is made possible through UWCC’s Women’s Leadership Council, a unique movement of diverse women working together to create change through giving, advocating and volunteering. The Women’s Leadership Council has adopted women’s financial stability as its signature issue because we recognize that a woman’s financial stability has a positive influence on her ability to meet basic needs, educate her children, and achieve optimal health and well being. Proceeds from Women’s Leadership Councilspecial events in Spring 2015 will be invested in the Chittenden County community through this one-time funding opportunity.
We expect that up to $40,000 in funding will be available. Non profit organizations (501c3) serving people in Chittenden County are invited to submit proposals that address unmet needs, promising possibilities, and/or gaps in our community’s strategies to promote women’s financial stability.
- focus on strategies that promote financial stability for Chittenden County women and their families through providing access to one or more of the following: education and skill development; family resources; and/or income supports.
- be appropriate for one-time funding (e.g., a short term project with a discrete budget or a longer term project sustainable beyond this one-time funding).
- create something new and/or expanded (e.g., new or expanded service or programming; scaling of successful strategies).
- have a clear process and plan to measure and report project outcomes that demonstrate whether and how the intended beneficiaries are better off as a result of this project.
Proposals are due February 13, 2015. Proposal guidelines and instructions are attached to this email and are posted at www.unitedwaycc.org.
